Plumtree Group and Opex join forces PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 06 January 2010 00:00

Plumtree Group leading suppliers of automated document capture and document management solutions to the healthcare market announced today that it has certified the OPEX DS1225™ scanner for use with the whole range of Plumtree Group Software’s solutions.

The DS1225 is a mid-volume production scanner which eliminates the need for a separate document preparation process.  Documents can simply be dropped on the conveyor and automatically aligned, flattened, and imaged regardless of variable sizes and thicknesses.  This simplifies the processing of nearly any healthcare document.

ds1225mThere is no need for a separate document prep process with the DS1225m. Equipped with a forgiving drop feeder; the DS1225m can scan the widest range of documents right out of Medical Record folder. Simply drop the open folder onto the conveyor followed by its separated contents. Items as small as a receipt or as long as 25 inches are automatically aligned, flattened and fed into the scanner. Even torn, wrinkled, folded, and stapled items are handled with ease. Pages will stack neatly on top of the folder in the sort bin. Just close the folder and all the items will be back in order in their original file. This one touch process drastically reduces or eliminates activities such as pre-sorting, taping damaged items, and careful edge-aligning.

Fortunately the DS1225m process does more than just reduce document prep. It also provides content integrity, quality auditing, and compliance benefits. Paper is scanned immediately after it is removed from the folder by one operator. Removing extra touches and minimizing file transportation virtually eliminates opportunities to misplace or mishandle documents and reduces the risk of confidential information being compromised.

The DS1225m is equipped with several other features that deliver optimal efficiency. Ultrasonic multi-feed detection is incorporated into the device to prevent double-feeds. Overlapped documents are identified and easily separated before they can enter the scanner. OPEX drop feed technology, along with these high productivity features, makes the DS1225m ideally suited for the healthcare environments that handle a wide variety of documents with exceptional document scanning requirements.

“By certifying the OPEX scanner with the dartEDM product we’ve successfully integrated two champion technologies to provide a seamless solution for the healthcare market,” commented Ben Dorks, Business Development Director, Plumtree Group.  “Now a significant portion of manual processes, including document preparation and manual data entry, can be eliminated.  This ultimately will assist hospitals in driving down processing costs of converting to an EPR solution.”
