Plumtree Group Complete Acquisition Of Capgen

Data Capture specialists Capgen have been acquired by Plumtree Group. The UK based firm provides scanning software and data capture solutions to both the UK Healthcare and Legal markets.

Plumtree Groups CTO,  Ben Dorks, said: “Capgen is a rare example of a business that has developed a unique product and created its own market opportunity from scratch. With our support, we are confident that we can continue to develop the business in what is an exciting sector with significant further growth potential.” He continued “The acquisition both widens and further strengthens the Plumtree Group suite of healthcare solutions available and means that Plumtree Group can better support the need for tactical and strategic solutions for the UK NHS, Irish health services, private health sector, and emerging markets in the Middle East.”

The Capgen product is an easy to use Document Capture application managing everything from the moment documents arrive to be scanned, through to the point when they are uploaded into a document management system with QA verification complying with BS10008. It is suitable for use within a bureau or internal hospital scanning solution and is based around the production line concept of one station - one task, for maximum throughput, accuracy, and efficiency.

Commenting on the acquisition Barnaby Kent, Plumtree Group chief executive officer, said: "Our first priority is to continue the support of Capgen solutions to existing customers and to embrace the knowledge and experience of the Capgen team. The combined product offering will allow Plumtree Group to deliver an even broader range of leading applications and enable us to upgrade current customers with immediate effect."
